Boat Wheel Hose Reel

I’ve been needing to get a hose reel or rack for quite a while for one of our faucets on the property. Mrs. GS and I found a boat captain’s wheel in a vintage store and the lightbulb went off!

I knew I need something to give it some space for a double hose. Vintage wooden croquet mallet heads have been a go-to for a few projects in the past and I’ve got a box full of them. An antique beefy hand valve was the crowning touch. A threaded rod goes through the whole setup. The mallet head will eventually rot, but I’ve got more!
