Here is the other of the two silverplate birdhouses I created yesterday.
I had a lot of fun with this one too. The candlestick parts in the middle really made the whole piece pop.
I've been lucky enough to run across some really interesting pieces of old silverplate. This one started with the teapot or coffee pot. A s.p. napkin ring circles the birdhouse (1 1/2"). Pieces of s.p. utensils were used as a perch mount and the "finial" above the napkin ring. I carved a rose leaf out of a s.p. large tablespoon that grows out of the spout. On the back, I modified three pieces of s.p. spoons to make a trio design to decorate the back. Parts from a s.p. candlestick create the pedestal to tie everything together.
This great birdhouse is ready to go and can be yours in my Etsy Shop (HERE).
