Busy Bully Ruby Throated Hummingbird

Hey folks!  I have to apologize for yet another hummingbird post, but the truth is there's not much flying around the backyard lately with all the heat and such a dry spell. 

In this photo you will notice three hummingbirds getting along just fine....

Okay.  Not really.  If you know anything about hummingbirds, it's that they don't put up with each other very much.  Especially in close quarters.  This is actually a composite of the same individual bird.  This young male has been staking his claim to the fresh hummingbird feeder that sits below this iron arm.  He has been standing guard for a couple of days now.  For a young fella' he sure is big and bold.  And if you don't believe me, maybe this picture will convince you...
