Blue Dasher Dragonfly

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm trying to take more notice of what critters are flying around in the backyard besides just the birds.  I ran across this nice one the other day.

After researching, I found it to be a male Blue Dasher dragonfly.  The late-afternoon sun kind of lightened up the blue but it's actually a very nice shade of blue.  I really like the "tiger striping" of the torso in contrast.  The females have pretty much the same torso but have the yellow and black linear stripes going down the tail for the most part.
