Either she's a big gal or this bird is pregnant. They say it's hard to tell sometimes between young males and females, but I'd imagine given the size, that this is a pregnant female. Correct me if I'm wrong.
At first she noticed me and tolerated me so she got comfortable and stayed a little while primping and organizing those beautiful feathers, then probably wished I would go away and finally began some feuding with some like-feathered competition at the feeder. She chased the other away several times before tolerating the other to sip the sweet concoction.
Who knows when the great little guys will leave. Given our crazy weather done South, it might be a little while longer.
