Here's the latest creation. I started with an antique pickle castor caddy. I could see the small birdhouse swinging inside the arm when I bought it. Then, it was just a matter of creating it. I went through the stash and had this small copper finished Tea canister from a set. A monopoly piece hat is at the top of the birdhouse holding down an antique numbered key plate. I used an old aluminum number "3" and cut it in half and used them as shutter accents on both sides of the bird hole. An antique tarnished spoon serves as the perch. I attached some antique brass filigree banding around the perimeter of the top of the birdhouse. The top lid comes off to clean out the birdhouse or to put potpourri in. On the back of the birdhouse, I added a rose flower piece from an old broach to counter weight the hanging of the birdhouse.
On the pickle castor arm, I added some loops at the top to attach the copper jack chain to. At the bottom, I mounted the castor to a medium brass tray that was inverted. Inside the hold at the bottom of the castor, you see a metal snowflake mounted inside for some added detail. And lastly, at the very top, I golf and silver toned pair of leaves from a vintage pin was attached with a piece of copper stained glass came.
